Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools is the new North American non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support to the largest independent network of science and technology schools in Israel. We are the only organization in North America that has the exclusive right to raise funds for the Israel Sci-Tech Schools Network (ISTSN). Our mission is to fund and promote a strong education in the sciences and technology. 67% of students at the schools we support are on technology tracks compared to 37% of all other Israeli students. The ISTSN is the largest non-governmental school system in Israel, with one of every 10 Israeli high school students enrolled in one of our schools. Our network produces the largest number of practical engineers in all of Israel: 35% of all practical engineers and technicians in the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and 25% of all practical engineers and technicians in the Israeli workforce.

The Organization for Rehabilitation and Training was founded in Russia in 1880. In 1949, a network of schools was established in Israel based on the same ideals and in the belief that education is the foundation of a strong nation. Today this historic, independent network has grown to 165 schools and colleges, adding new schools ever year including comprehensive high schools, industrial schools, educational centers, and technical, engineering and academic colleges throughout Israel These schools focus on hands-on social and community service experiences that benefit all Israeli citizens. The 100,000 diverse students are comprised of Jews, Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Bedouins, from every part of Israel and every socio-economic level.

The Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools mission is to provide funding and support to this exceptional network. We maintain a $10 million annual research and development budget to develop cutting-edge scientific, technological and pedagogic training and curricular materials.
