Perry Davis moderates a presentation at MBN on corporate philanthropy.

From the Desk of Perry Davis

Dear friends,

I recently moderated a breakfast presentation for the Metropolitan Business Network on corporate philanthropy. PDA has been a member of MBN for a number of years and I was delighted, honored and excited to facilitate the event.

I’ve shared with you here the complete presentation, given by leaders in the for- and non-profit worlds who have years’ experience in giving and getting corporate support. The event was attended by a wide variety of business owners, non-profits, and professionals. The all-star panel included representatives from the Fresh Air Fund, Good Shepherd, Morgan Stanley and American Express. Their generous insights into best-practices and practical guidance are invaluable. Major points include:

  1. What companies look for in reviewing non-profits for philanthropic support;
  2. Tapping into corporations for volunteers;
  3. And how a robust culture of philanthropy developing in the for-profit world is good for business as well as good for non-profits.

It was truly edifying to hear such distinguished and thoughtful leaders share with us the why, where and how of corporate philanthropy.

Enjoy!

Perry Davis
